“Barak brings to Ethernity vast expertise in NFV and SDN with significant experience in open-source projects, and will be instrumental in formulating our technology to best fit the new and growing market of network virtualisation and cloud networking,” stated Ethernity’s CEO David Levi upon announcing the appointment. “Barak and his team of cloud experts will deliver to our customers and partners the benefits of a complete high performance virtualised solution that combines VNFs fully integrated with our software drivers and data processing offload engine”. Levi continued. “His involvement with the industry standardization bodies positions Ethernity as the best vendor to supply future proof solutions to our customers”.
Barak Perlman joined the company from HPE, where he led the technical definitions of the vE-CPE and SD-WAN solutions as Chief Architect of HPE NFV offering. At PMC-Sierra, as a Director of System Engineering, he was responsible for the architecture of networking ASICs and NPUs. In several start-ups, Barak has held the leading technology steering positions – the Chief Architect of Siverge Networks and the VP R&D of Etagon. He also worked at Chromatis Networks, which was acquired by Lucent, as well as at ECI Telecom.
Mr. Perlman holds a BSc and an MSc in electrical engineering from Tel Aviv University.
